The aim of the BRIXX Brno project is to exploit the potential of a long unused area within easy reach of the city centre. The complex is conceived as a "work & live" project, so it will offer residents not only residential, commercial and retail space, but also elements that will support active community life.
As with other DOMOPLAN projects, high demands are placed on solutions that support a sustainable future. By using a combination of green roofs, heat pumps, photovoltaics and battery storage, the energy self-sufficiency of the complex will be around 30 percent.
Other solutions include a grey water reuse system and retention tanks to irrigate the park's greenery with rainwater. Charging stations for electric cars or electric bicycles are a matter of course, and the use of shared scooters, bicycles and other means of transport will also be encouraged as much as possible.
BRIXX Brno will offer more than 400 apartments, 92 housing units for students, 11 co-working units of 1,400 square metres, a private clinic of more than 1,000 square metres and almost 500 parking spaces in underground garages. Construction is scheduled to begin in the first half of 2024, with completion expected in 2027.
